How Belief, Commitment & Conviction Turn Dreams into Reality – [Part 2]

So, in my last blog post I spoke about how I thought that in order to be truly successful, and certainly these are the character traits that I have seen amongst many wealthy and successful people, you must have total belief, total commitment, like a do or die attitude and conviction that you are going to do it.

However, it’s not a matter of becoming cosy and thinking oh yeah, I believe it’s going to happen, and then not doing any work to achieve it, not having a plan or structure in place to carry it out. That’s just stupidity, there’s a big difference between belief and being brave, and stupidity. Once you’ve done your research and homework and you believe in whatever you have set out to do, then you go for it, and do it wholeheartedly.

Once I have made the decision to pursue something I never look back, I reflect on my decision-making processes and how I got there, and whether it was the right decision or the wrong decision I never look back, I’ve made my decision I have full conviction and belief in it, and then I proceed with it.

So, whether it was a good move or a bad one, the right decision or the wrong one, I accept it and like I have said before, you’re not going to get everything right and you’ve got to be sensible and accept that some things you do may not work out, that’s life, and that’s fine.

You also have to also be brave enough to say I gave it my all, and for some reason if it didn’t work out have the courage to say it’s not worth it any more, I was fully committed, I tried everything, but unfortunately it didn’t work out, no problem, put it in the bin, what’s next, then I do my homework and move on to the next project.

I never dwell, I never ponder, I never look back, I go through the processes of what I could have done better, and what I could have done to improve or make the project work, because I am constantly evolving as a person and making myself better, but once I have carried out the analysis I never go back or ponder over it, I only move forward.

So along with the belief, commitment, and conviction I also think that you must be brave. Back to the example when I had £5,000 in my bank account, I was living in a house worth £20,000, selling phones at a pocket phone shop earning £12,000 a year, I believed 100% that I was going to double my money with this deal with the mobile phones, and with the person I on the other side of the world who I hadn’t even met.

I believed that the telecoms industry was for me, and that I was going to make money out of it. I was highly engaged, and fully committed to it, and if I hadn’t believed to that extent then I had I would have been left with zero because I literally did put everything, I had into it.

Now once you start your journey towards success, and start getting the wins, you gain the confidence and it grows, but the longer you can remain humble and have gratitude for what you have, as well as believe in God and stay simple and not get carried away with stupidity or let the ego kick in, I believe you will be successful for the rest of your life.

The ones that generally start off well, and then fail, is when they let the ego kicks in, they get too big headed, they stop thanking God, and think they are untouchable. So, if you have these 4 traits below, and continue with them, even when you are successful, your journey will never end. You must remain humble, remain polite, courteous and you’ve always got to be respectful. I really do think the journey will end when you lose these basic core values above.

All the successful people that I have come across whether that be footballers or football managers or businesspeople in general we have the same attributes, in terms of we believe in what we are going to do, we are 100% committed to it, we sacrifice everything to be successful in it, we remain humble, we stay polite, we stay courteous and we have gratitude to God.

I also think we have the same traits, for example Musk or Bill Gates, though they are at a different level, you don’t see them wearing flashy t-shirts with bog logos, but I do see someone who has a bit of cash flaunt it with Gucci or Louis Vuitton everywhere, there’s nothing wrong with branded stuff, nothing at all I’m just giving an example as to how in my opinion truly successful people remain humble no matter how big they get.

I also think once you have achieved a certain level of success you get to the point where you want to pay it forward and help other people become successful, you want to contribute and give back. It’s a massive part, and I think that most successful people do that, and in my next blog post I will discuss the huge amount of gratitude and satisfaction you get giving back and changing someone else’s life, but in that process, it changes you as a person.

To sum up, be brave in whatever decision you make, whether it’s to do a deal or a project or not, just be fully committed to the decision that you make whatever it is. Don’t let people sway you, don’t let people change your mind, you’ve come to a decision because you’ve done the homework, you’ve carried out the research, and your gut feeling and belief tells you that this is not the deal to be done, on the reverse side you have carried out the research and gone through all the processes and you think this is the right decision, then be 100% committed, and you do it. It may not work, but you’ve gone through the correct processes, and you continue to go through the correct processes, you may not get everything right but if you work this way with total commitment, belief, and conviction then I believe 8 out of 10 times you will be successful.

So, I hope you enjoyed the second part of my blog, belief, commitment, and conviction, I believe these 3 are some of the core fundamentals of true success and the character traits I have seen in many highly successful people. So, if you follow these you are on the way to success too.

So, until my next post, keep dreaming big and moving forward towards your dreams and goals with complete belief, wholehearted commitment, and total conviction in them.

To your success
